DIF/Tactical Asessment
Tactical Methodology: Structured Command & Integrated Pairs
Core Objective
To shift the gameplay loop from individual reflex to Synchronized Unit Maneuver. The methodology prioritizes the Team Lead’s (TL) tactical vision, utilizing specialized pairs to maintain 360-degree security while minimizing the "Colby Kills Everything" effect through role-specific restrictions and mandatory authorization.
Unit Structure & Pairing Logic
The team operates as two distinct elements that can merge or split based on the TL’s discretion.
Element Alpha: The Breach & Maneuver Team
- Point Man (Colby): The "Tip of the Spear." Responsible for technical assets (breaching, drones, hacking) and leading the physical stack. You move first but fire last (only upon "Cleared Hot" or immediate life-threat).
- Frontline Support (Travis): The "Guardian." Responsible for covering the Point Man’s blind spots. Travis provides security during your technical interactions (e.g., while you are on a drone or setting a charge).
Element Bravo: The Command & Overwatch Team
- Team Lead (Bobby): The "Architect." Positioned to see the "big picture." He dictates the Rules of Engagement (RoE) and coordinates the movement between Alpha and Overwatch.
- Overwatch (David): The "Eye in the Sky." Provides long-range reconnaissance and precision fire. When Alpha breaches, David remains external to provide early warning and suppressive fire if the exit becomes "hot."
Revised Operational Protocols
1. The Split-Team Maneuver (The 3+1 or 2+2)
While solo flanking is discouraged, the TL may authorize David (OW) to maintain a High-Side Overwatch position solo while the remaining three (TL, PM, FS) collapse on the objective.
- Integration Rule: If the team splits, Element Alpha (Colby/Travis) must maintain a "Visual Tether." You do not enter a room unless your Support is set to cover the entry.
2. Tactical Pacing & "Technical Lock"
To ensure the team stays involved, Colby’s lethality is "locked" behind technical tasks:
- Role Gatekeeping: If a door needs opening or a terminal hacked, Colby performs the action while Travis and Bobby provide a security perimeter. This forces the team to establish a "Set" position before any action occurs.
- Authorized Engagement: Even as Point Man, you do not engage "Soft Targets" (unaware enemies) without a "Cleared Hot" from Bobby. This allows the team to maneuver into better supporting positions before the first shot is fired.
3. Communications (C3: Command, Control, Communications)
- Status Reporting: Before a breach, the TL calls for a "Status Check."
- Example:
- Colby: "Point Set, Charge Placed."
- Travis: "Support Set, Covering Rear."
- David: "Overwatch Set, Visual on Exit."
- Bobby: "Execute, Execute, Execute."
- Example:
- The "Veto" Power: Any member can call "Break, Break, Break" if they spot an immediate threat the TL has missed, temporarily freezing the advance.
Summary of Tactical Constraints
- Primary Rule: No engagement without TL confirmation unless "Defensive Fire" is required.
- Secondary Rule: Point Man and Support must remain within "Support Distance" (capable of immediate physical intervention).
- Tertiary Rule: Stealth is the primary metric of success. If a "Loud" engagement occurs without TL planning, it is a failure in discipline.
Optional Information
- Any role can be changed at the discretion of the squad but must be done prior to mission.
- Elements of FS and PM roles can be interchangeable based on operator choices in mission.
- Any aspect is subject to change based on the game and its inherent mechanics.
